New COVID-19 treatment coverage policy

To help your employees access care during this stressful time, Sharp Health Plan is waiving out-of-pocket costs for COVID-19 treatment.

We are waiving members’ out-of-pocket costs for COVID-19 treatment-related services that are received from April 1 through September 30, 2020. This policy change applies to members who are diagnosed with COVID-19 and who are enrolled in a fully insured benefit plan through Sharp Health Plan, in all lines of business.

This simply means that your employees will not be billed a copay, coinsurance, or deductible for services to test, diagnose, and treat COVID-19. No action is needed from you and your employees.

This waiver applies to all COVID-19-related treatment costs with the date of service listed from April 1 to September 30, 2020, unless superseded by guidance from state and federal agencies and local public health officials or extended by Sharp Health Plan.

Please note that all Sharp Health Plan members must continue to receive non-emergency services from providers that are affiliated with their medical group.
